‘Boonie Bears’ Is China’s First 3D Toon

The first-ever Chinese 3D animated film is set to arrive in mainland theaters before the country’s annual Spring Festival or Lunar New Year (January 31) according to Chinese news outlet CRI. The film is titled Boonie Bears (Xiong Chumo) and is a joint production of Fantawild Animation Inc., Mr. Cartoon Pictures, LEVP and Zhujiang Film.

Based on the very popular children’s TV show broadcast by Central China Television, Boonie Bears centers on logger Vick and the bears Briar and Bramble who start out as enemies but must team up in a great quest to win back a lost treasure.
